Long Time, No Blog!

Hello blogging friends! I am still alive! I am so sorry I have not written in so long (over 2 months!); my life has just been pretty busy this summer. But honestly, I know everyone’s life is busy. I just have had to prioritize my time with different things this summer, and unfortunately, blogging came after a few other things. But I promise, I have missed every one of you, and I have been keeping up with other blogs when I got the chance. I just usually was not able to comment on them. 😦

Anyways, I could not be happier to announce that I am happily married and am now a Mrs!!! πŸ™‚

Check out those rings! (That picture was taken at the airport the day after our wedding on the way to our honeymoon. It was about 4:30 in the morning, and I was going on about 2 hours of sleep. The only way I had the energy to stay awake was knowing I was married to the love of my life, and that I was on my way to the trip of a lifetime with my wonderful husband!)

IΒ felt like I had blogged so much about preparing for the wedding, and I wrote so much about how excited I was to begin life with my best friend, but I haven’t been able to catch y’all up on our life as a married couple! Β Don’t worry, I have full intentions of getting everyone caught up on our rehearsal, wedding day, and honeymoon, as well as our life together since we have been home as a Β married couple. πŸ™‚ I have so many beautiful pictures I can’t wait to share, and so many great memories I can’t wait to write about. But instead of making this an incredibly long post, this will be short and sweet. But, I will share a few for now. πŸ™‚

To say I was excited is obviously an understatement.

I promise I will post many, many more pictures! Just a little preview! πŸ˜‰

Fitness

Of course I have still been working out! Running is seriously like a drug; it is that addicting. If any of you follow me on Twitter, you know that this summer I have suffered with a slight knee injury. My right knee started giving me pain, and I wasn’t able to go on long runs for what felt like years! Okay, maybe it was about a month and a half. It felt longer though.Β

This was really hard for me. I don’t like dealing with injuries, and I especially don’t like when my body doesn’t let me run or work out as hard as I would like. After doing some online research and getting advice from Twitter friends, I started doing knee and leg strengthening exercises every day. I slowly started to build back up my mileage, and I have finally gone three weeks straight with absolutely no knee pain! Yay!! πŸ™‚ This past week I was able to go on an 8 mile run on Thursday, and I am hoping to get in a 9 mile run this coming week. Last weekend I even signed up for a 10k race to do on Labor Day with my Dad! I am so excited about this, especially because this is the longest race my Dad has ever done! Being a running fanatic, I’m pretty pumped my Dad has gotten into running.

This was taken at a 5k we did together in February.

I am also continuing to work on challenging myself with more strength training. Ryan and I haven’t joined a gym since we moved, and we are still looking for one that we can afford. Right now, I am using my resistance bands and my body weight for my strength workouts, but those still work awesome and are very challenging. I still miss the gym atmosphere, and I really can’t wait to be able to use weights again. Hopefully we find one soon. πŸ™‚

Faith

I felt like I have really looked to the Lord for guidance and hope more than ever this summer. Ryan and I are at a point in our lives where there is still so much unknown, that we just have to rely on the Lord to take us where He wants us and where we should be. I am learning to go to Him for absolutely everything in prayer, and right now I am praying for God to make me more humble. I am reading Isaiah right now, and I have only read the first four chapters, but His Word makes it clear on what he thinks of the proud and the humble. I want to constantly remind myself that anything I have or do or am able to do, it is because the Lord has blessed me. That is why everything I have, including all of my energy, goes to the Lord.

Where I’ve Been All Summer

So I know a lot of you might be thinking, “so why has she been so busy this summer she hasn’t been able to blog?”. Well, I think a lot of it was just getting used to a new schedule, getting our house organized, and just being plain busy! I was blessed with a nanny job this summer where I took care of two wonderful baby girls and cooked for their parents. This was an all day job, and when I got home I usually had things to do around the house (clean, organize, unpack, etc.), and I wanted to spend some quality time with my new Hubby since we had both been at work all day. In addition, I am still working on finishing my thank you notes to everyone who gave Ryan and I wedding gifts. (This is a very big task!!) Also, this past Friday I took my Texas teacher certification test, so a lot of my free time was dedicated to studying for this. I have been getting up at 5:00 a.m. every morning to workout before work, so I usually try to go to bed by 9:30 or 10. This schedule just didn’t leave me much time to blog, but I am really going to make more of an effort to make time for my blog and to connect with all of my blogging friends, because honestly guys, I love y’all!

So, do y’all understand why I have been absent from the blogging world, and will y’all forgive me? πŸ™‚ Pretty please! πŸ™‚
