The Best Day of My Life: The Wedding Reception

Three weeks ago I shared pre-wedding ceremony pictures, and two weeks ago I shared pictures from our wedding ceremony. Today I will share pictures from our wedding reception! Then I promise I will be done with the wedding posts, besides our honeymoon, which I still need to recap! I know I should have written these posts so long ago since we got married and went on our honeymoon in June, but hey, better late than never right? 🙂

Before we went to the reception, right after the ceremony, our preacher signed our marriage license to make it official!

Billups wedding 7475

We had to give a thumbs up for him signing it!

Billups wedding 7490

Our wedding party was waiting on us to go to the reception and be announced. After the ceremony we took family and group pictures, and told the wedding guests to go ahead and start eating. So after the pictures is when we signed the marriage license. Then we met our wedding party in the elevator and the photographer was able to snap a quick picture of us all stuffed in the elevator before we went up to the third floor for the reception.

Billups wedding 7506

Our friend, Travis, announced our whole wedding party into the reception, and last he announced us! You can’t really see our faces in this picture, but we both have huge smiles!

Billups wedding 7508

We walked into our first dance song and went immediately into our dance. We danced to “When I Say I Do” by Matthew West. If you have never heard this song, I highly recommend you follow the link and listen to it. It is so so beautiful, and it was the exact song Ryan and I wanted to dance to.

I have to say, Ryan is an excellent dancer!

Billups wedding 7555 Billups wedding 7543  Billups wedding 7525 Billups wedding 7540Billups wedding 7531

After I danced with Ryan, I was lucky enough to enjoy my father/daughter dance with my wonderful Daddy. This was such a special moment, and something I will always treasure. We danced to “Butterfly Kisses” by Bob Carlisle.

Billups wedding 7538 Billups wedding 7541 Billups wedding 7551 Billups wedding 7565

Next, Ryan and his Mom danced to “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Wommack.

Billups wedding 7568 Billups wedding 7582 Billups wedding 7559

After the dances, my brother and Ryan’s two brothers all gave amazing speeches!

Billups wedding 7579Billups wedding 7587 Billups wedding 7589

My maid of honor, Marlee, and my Dad also gave a speech. All of these speeches touched Ryan and I very much. Everyone’s words were so sweet!

After speeches Ryan and I walked around and talked to as many people as we could, but there was so many people we weren’t able to get to everyone. Before we knew it, it was time to cut the cake!

Ryan accidentally missed my mouth a little bit. 🙂

Billups wedding 7605 Billups wedding 7606

Ryan isn’t a huge fan of cake, so he decided he wanted brownies instead of cake, and it was a huge hit!

Billups wedding 7632

After cutting the cake we talked to people a little bit more, and then we played the shoe game!

Billups wedding 7646 Billups wedding 7644 Billups wedding 7653 Billups wedding 7654 Billups wedding 7655

In case you don’t know what the shoe game is, the bride and groom each take off their shoes and the bride holds one of her shoes and one of the groom’s. The groom does the same thing. We then had our announcer, our friend Travis, ask us questions, like who would clean the toilet? Then the bride and groom hold up the shoe of the person who they think will do that job or whatever the answer to that question might be. This ended up being a lot of fun!

Billups wedding 7647

The last question was who do you love more than anyone in the world, and of course I held up Ryan’s shoe, and he held up mine. 🙂

Shortly after this I threw my bouquet.

Billups wedding 7659 Billups wedding 7661 Billups wedding 7670

My best friend since fifth grade, Shelby, caught the bouquet. By the looks of the above picture, I am pretty sure she wanted it. 😉

Next, Ryan through the football with the garter around it. I saw the football idea on Pinterest and loved it!

Billups wedding 7665 Billups wedding 7666

Shelby’s boyfriend (at the time )wasn’t as lucky as her though. Ryan’s little cousin Grayson caught the football with the garter, haha! But don’t worry, at the end of last year Shelby and her boyfriend, Drake, got engaged and they are getting married this June. 🙂

And because I haven’t showed any pictures of our reception room, here you go. 🙂

 Billups wedding 7495

This was me and Ryan’s table.

Billups wedding 7493

I loved all of our flowers!

Billups wedding 7492

We had a taco bar for dinner! It was all delicious! (Ryan and I didn’t have time to eat at the reception, but our caterer was amazing, and she packed us some to go boxes to eat in the limo after the reception. She seriously thought of everything!)

Billups wedding 7491

This was the area where the food and drinks were. There was a room to the right where the reception took place.

Billups wedding 7650 Billups wedding 7649 Billups wedding 7648

Everything was absolutely beautiful!

The whole night went by so quickly, and before we knew it, our limo was there to pick us up and everyone was blowing bubbles at us as we left.

Oh my gosh this day was amazing! Seriously, our wedding day was the best day of my life, and one I will always remember and treasure. Everything about it was a dream come true. The best part, though, was marrying the man of my dreams and my best friend. It still makes me so excited to actually call him my husband and know that I am lucky enough to be his wife. 🙂

The Best Day of My Life: Wedding Ceremony

Last week I shared some pictures from our wedding day, the pre-ceremony pictures, and today I will share the rest of the pictures from our wedding ceremony! Like I said before, this was, without a doubt, the best day of my life! If I tried to describe the whole day, I don’t think my words would do this wonderful day justice, so I will let the pictures tell the story. But because I am me and can never shut up, I will probably still write a few things. 😉

We had a big wedding party, seven bridesmaids, seven groomsmen, two ushers, two flower girls, and three ring bearers. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way. 🙂

Again, to keep this post from being incredibly long, I am going to end it here. Sorry to keep dragging out the wedding posts, but I will do another post that will recap the reception. I figured that would be better than having a novel for a post. 😉

I hope you all have a great day today! 🙂

The Best Day of my Life: Pre-Wedding Ceremony

Today is going to be a great day! So why not share a post that is long overdue? This just happens to be part of the recap of the best day of my life so….

I have kept my wedding pictures from y’all for long enough! I have so much I could write about our wedding day; it truly was the best day of my life, and I will never forget it. Instead of me writing a novel for this post, I will say a few things, but I will let my pictures do most of the talking about this day. I tried to pick out some of my favorites. The photographer gave us over 600 pictures, so it was hard to choose since they were all amazing, but here are some of my favorites!

Billups wedding 7054 Billups wedding 7051 Billups wedding 7058

Getting ready. Yup, I was that bride who actually ate before her wedding. People told me I wouldn’t be hungry. They obviously don’t know me. Oh, and the woman doing my hair is so special to me! One of her daughters was a close friend of mine, and her son was a friend of my brothers. I also love her youngest daughter to death. Basically, I love her whole family. She has done my hair for every important event in my life (junior high dances, high school proms, homecoming, etc.), so it just made sense for her to do my hair for our wedding!Billups wedding 7084

Billups wedding 7037

You better believe I ordered special Nikes to wear at my wedding! You can’t see it, but I have certain things written on the tongue of each shoe. One tongue reads, “bride” and the other shoe reads “6.7.13”, the date of our wedding.

Seriously, how did I get so lucky to marry this handsome man?

Billups wedding 7269 Billups wedding 7273

Ryan and I didn’t see each other at all before the wedding. About 30 minutes before the ceremony began our photographer set up this barrier between us so that we could exchange the letters we wrote to each other that morning.

We both must have written something funny. 🙂

This was such a special, intimate moment, and Ryan’s letter is something I will forever treasure and keep.

I thought we were just exchanging letters, but Ryan surprised me by giving me a new study bible, with my new name inscribed on the bottom. I was totally surprised. This just made me cry even more, but I loved it! The perfect gift, given by the perfect man, on a perfect day.

After we exchanged letters and prayed together, my Mom came and got me to hurry me back into the bridal room. The ceremony was about to start, and I needed to touch up my make-up and hair!

We didn’t get married until 7:00 p.m., so I was ready to get the whole wedding thing started!

Now, not to leave you hanging at the most exciting point, but this post is already extremely long! I think it would be best to separate the wedding recap into separate posts. So here was the pre-wedding ceremony, next I will recap the actual wedding!

Sorry for all of the pictures; it’s just so hard to choose between them all!

I hope you all have a great Thursday! 🙂

Late, But Our Weekly Meal Plan

Hey guys! This past weekend was jam packed for me, but it was absolutely wonderful! My brother’s wedding went perfect, and I now have a wonderful new sister-in-law! 🙂 I would like to write about their wedding, but I want to wait until they get back from their honeymoon to see if Kaleigh wants me to wait to post the professional pictures. Also, I still need to write about my wedding! (I know I’m super late on writing that post, but I want to write about my rehearsal dinner before I write about the wedding, and the pictures from the rehearsal are on my parents’ computer, not mine. I will eventually finish these posts. 🙂 ) But I have to share a few pictures from their wedding this past weekend.

…Well never mind. I am having major issues putting pictures on my blog lately. For almost a week now anytime I have tried to put pictures on my blog it says that the image exceeds the maximum upload for this site. I am doing the same thing I always do, so I don’t know what to do. Has anyone else had this problem or have any tips for me?

Anyways, here is my meal plan for this week.

Monday: Chicken Tortilla Soup

Tuesday: Spaghetti with spaghetti squash as noodles

Wednesday: Dinner at our church

Thursday: Butternut squash soup and chicken sandwiches.

Friday: Homemade pizza (date night at home!)

I am excited for this week’s meals, and Ryan and I are very excited to eat at our church this Wednesday night. They have a meal every Wednesday, but this will be our first one to go to.

And here were my last week’s workouts:

Monday: 16 mile run

Tuesday: yoga

Wednesday: 2 mile run plus my Autumn Arms Workout except instead of doing it for ten minutes, I did 12 reps of each exercise and did 3 sets.

Thursday: 5 mile run

Friday: Burning Leg and Ab Workout

Saturday: Wedding day (rest…sort of 🙂 )

Sunday: Rest day, played some football with my family. 🙂

Also, today I switched to first grade for my student teaching! I have been with fourth grade since school started, and now I will be with first grade for the rest of the semester. I really like the younger ones, so today was great! 🙂

Questions:

Any tips for me uploading pictures to my blog?

What meal are you looking forward to cooking this week? I am really excited to make butternut squash for the first time!

Kaleigh’s Bachelorette Party

Happy Friday! I have been absent once again all this week, so I hope everyone has had a good week! I am very excited for this weekend, especially since it’s a three day weekend for me! (Monday is my school’s fair day, so students and teachers are off!) I have had a rough week at school, which is why if you follow me on Instagram, you saw how sweet my husband was by surprising me with flowers one night and taking me out to dinner to Red Lobster. I love him to death. 🙂

Anyways, I haven’t been blogging much lately, so I haven’t wrote much about my big brother’s upcoming wedding! He gets married a week from tomorrow and I am so excited! His fiancee, Kaleigh, is basically already my sister, so I am so happy for them to tie the knot soon!

Kaleigh and me selfie

Kaleigh’s bachelorette party was last Saturday night, and we had a blast! First we went to a place called Color Me Mine, where you can pick a piece of pottery and paint it. Then they bake it in an oven so that the colors melt and become darker and shinier. It is done in about a week, and you just come get it once it’s done! Here is a picture of all of us with our finished products!

K's bachelorette party group

I am definitely not an artist, so I knew I needed to pick something simple. I also love fall decorations, so I got a pumpkin dish to paint. I figured it would be easy enough, and turn out to be a cute decoration for our home. I painted it like a regular pumpkin, mostly orange with a green stem. Then I decided to add a little personal touch by using a stencil to put a “B” in the middle. Well, their stencils weren’t the best, so my “B” didn’t turn out the best, but hopefully once it is baked it will still look good!

painted pumpkin

We all had so much fun here, but when we finally left we were starving! We went to BJ’s Brewhouse, which if you have never been, you need to. Their food is delicious, and they have so much to choose from! I always have such a hard time deciding what to order there! I ended up ordering a plate of their light barbacoa tacos from the lunch menu, and it came with black beans and cooked carrots and onions. It was delicious, and not a huge portion so it was perfect. But it did leave me room for dessert. 🙂

BJ’s Brewhouse is known for their Pazookie desserts, which I have never had until that night. Oh. My. Goodness. Let’s just say my life is changed. It was so good!!! Seriously, everyone go out tonight and go to this restaurant just to get a Pazookie. It’s worth it. I promise. It is basically a baked cookie in a pan topped with ice cream. It may not sound like it’s that big of a deal, but I am not much of a dessert person, so for me to be this crazy about a dessert means it is really good! Kaleigh, Bekah (Kaleigh’s sister), and I shared one, and we got half red velvet and half cookies and cream. I also don’t normally like red velvet, but this didn’t taste anything like red velvet. I have no idea how to describe how it tasted besides heavenly. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of food at the restaurant. 😦 Blogger fail.

Obviously when we looked into a window and saw our reflection we had to take a picture. 😉

mirror selfie better

We ended the night by going back to Kaleigh’s apartment for a sleepover. Bekah got all of us the cutest goodie bags, which I absolutely loved! It was filled with girly things like lotion and nail polish; so fitting for a bachelorette party! The other girls left and Bekah and I were the only ones who stayed the night with Kaleigh, and I had such a fun time staying up late and talking with these two!

Kaleigh and I her bachelorette party

Kaleigh was always there for me and so helpful for me when I was preparing for my wedding, so I hope I can do the same for her! Weddings are so fun!! 🙂

Questions:

1. Anyone you know getting married soon?

2. What are your plans this weekend? Ryan and I are going to help do some work at a person in need’s house with a group from our church! I am really excited!

3. Have you ever ate at BJ’s Brewhouse or had a pazookie?
